We process oil shale into liquid fuels that are in demand on the global market and develop new industrial solutions based on circular economy principles. We use resources wisely, create new value chains from by-products and, at the same time, keep in operation dispatchable production capacities that are important for Estonia, as well as Narva’s district heating.
High quality and environmentally friendly crushed stone
Enefit crushed stone is suitable for road construction, site development, foundations, drainage, and various filling works. A range of both finer and coarser fractions is available, and the material can also be supplied in larger quantities.
Oil shale ash as a circular raw material
Enefit’s oil shale ash is suitable for use as a raw material in construction materials, as aggregate and in agriculture. Its use helps reduce the need for natural raw materials and may lower the CO₂ footprint of cement and other construction materials. We develop new applications in cooperation with research and development partners.
Liquid fuels and efficient industrial technology
Enefit is one of the world’s largest producers of shale oil. We process oil shale into liquid fuels that are mainly used as marine fuel. Enefit technology enables the efficient use of raw material and makes it possible to extract more than 80% of the energy contained in the mineral resource.
Enefit Power provides electricity and heat when they are needed most
Enefit Power, a subsidiary of Enefit Industry, helps ensure that households in Estonia have electricity and heat also when weather conditions do not support renewable energy production or when generation capacity is limited. The company supports the security of supply of Estonia’s electricity system with dispatchable production capacities while new energy solutions are still being planned and built.
Warmth for the people of Narva today and in the future
Narva Soojusvõrk provides reliable district heating to nearly 60,000 residents of Narva and operates almost 80 kilometres of heating network. From December 2028, Enefit Industry will start supplying the city with more affordable heat. This solution will help ensure a competitive price and the continuity of district heating also in the future.
Mineral resources and logistics for major infrastructure projects
Enefit’s mining and logistics expertise combines the processing of mineral resources with large-scale railway transport. We offer limestone aggregate, waste rock, and rail transport services for construction and infrastructure projects. In the construction of Rail Baltica, our locomotives help transport materials from Ida-Viru County all the way to Tallinn.
